2025 is the year of the solar maximum, the peak of an 11-year cycle that sees our local celestial burning gas ball being more active that it has been in the previous 11 years.
In case you’re wondering… Yes – this actually can have an effect on digital systems, causing bits to flip and glitches to ensue. But to paraphrase Morpheus, I speak to you of this, truthfully unafraid! This might be the first solar max for your new laptop or that lovely ray-tracing capable games machine, but we’ve got computers that have been through 4 of these already!
So, shelter with us, May 31st, along with a huge array of solar max veterans. Because decades after these computers and consoles were built, through years of use (and sometimes abuse), upgrades and repairs and a handful of times the sun has raged at them, this we know to be true – The are still here!!
